Mathematics · Height and Distance
A balloon is moving up in the air vertically above a point A on the ground. When it is at a height h1, a girl standing at a distance d (point B) from A sees it at an angle of 45° with respect to the vertical. When the balloon climbs up a further height h2, it is seen at an angle of 60° with respect to the vertical by the same girl after she moves further away by a distance of 2.464d (point C). Find the height h2 (given tan(30°) = 0.5774 and √3 ≈ 1.732):
- 1d✓
- 20.464d
- 30.732d
- 41.464d
Correct answer
