Given below are two statements: one is labelled as Assertion A and the other is labelled as Reason R. Assertion A: The scarf of a sewing needle is a critical structural indentation that facilitates the smooth interlocking of upper and lower threads by allowing the shuttle hook to easily catch the thread loop. Reason R: The scarf is defined as the long, narrow channel running along the blade that protects the upper thread from friction and breakage as the needle penetrates the fabric. In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

Regarding the functional characteristics and applications of Ball Point Needles in garment construction, consider the following statements: Statement I: Ball point needles feature a rounded, smooth tip that pushes fabric fibers aside instead of piercing them. Statement II: These needles are specifically recommended for materials such as jersey, lycra, and ribbed fabrics to prevent damage like runs or holes. Statement III: The operational mechanics of the ball point needle are designed to preserve the natural structure and elasticity of stretch fabrics. Statement IV: These needles are characterized by a sharp, cutting-edge tip that is ideal for creating clean holes in heavy non-woven materials like leather and vinyl.
