वर्तमान में लोकसभा में निर्वाचित सदस्यों की अधिकतम संख्या 543 है।
मुख्य बिंदु:
मूल संविधान में लोकसभा की अधिकतम सदस्य संख्या 552 निर्धारित की गई थी।
इसमें राज्यों से अधिकतम 530, केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों से अधिकतम 20 और आंग्ल-भारतीय (Anglo-Indian) समुदाय से 2 सदस्यों को मनोनीत किए जाने का प्रावधान था।
104वें संविधान संशोधन अधिनियम, 2019 के द्वारा आंग्ल-भारतीय समुदाय के लिए आरक्षित दो सीटों के प्रावधान को समाप्त कर दिया गया। इसके बाद निर्वाचित सदस्यों की अधिकतम सीमा घटकर 543 रह गई है।
