Arrange the following steps in the correct order describing how transpiration leads to mineral absorption from soil: 1. Transpiration pull creates tension in xylem sap2. Minerals dissolved in soil water are absorbed passively along with water3. Water evaporates from mesophyll cell walls into substomatal spaces4. Tension is transmitted to root xylem, lowering its water potential5. Water with dissolved minerals moves up through xylem to leaves

In vascular plants, water and dissolved minerals are primarily transported upwards through which tissue?
