स्पष्टीकरण:
सामान्य कार्यकाल: भारतीय संविधान के अनुच्छेद 83(2) के अनुसार, लोकसभा का सामान्य कार्यकाल उसकी पहली बैठक के लिए नियत तिथि से 5 वर्ष का होता है।
समय पूर्व विघटन: यदि प्रधानमंत्री की सलाह पर राष्ट्रपति द्वारा इसे समय से पूर्व भंग (Dissolve) नहीं किया जाता है, तो यह 5 वर्ष की अवधि स्वतः समाप्त हो जाती है।
