गुजरात उच्च न्यायालय की स्थापना वर्ष 1960 में की गई थी।
बॉम्बे पुनर्गठन अधिनियम: बॉम्बे राज्य को भाषाई आधार पर विभाजित करके 1 मई 1960 को गुजरात और महाराष्ट्र दो नए राज्यों का गठन किया गया था।
स्थापना: इसी अधिनियम के प्रावधानों के तहत 1 मई 1960 को ही 'गुजरात उच्च न्यायालय' अस्तित्व में आया।
पहला मुख्यालय: इसकी स्थापना के समय इसका मुख्य स्थान (सीट) अहमदाबाद में था।
