The Treasury Department of 'Vikas Bank' holds a portfolio of 10-year Government of India bonds with a face value of 500 Crore Rupees. The bank is concerned that the upcoming monetary policy review might lead to an unexpected 50 basis point hike in the Repo rate, which would cause the market yield of these bonds to rise and their prices to fall.
