पंचायतों में महिलाओं के लिए सीटों का आरक्षण
संवैधानिक संशोधन: भारत में पंचायतों में महिलाओं के लिए सीटों का आरक्षण 73वें संविधान संशोधन अधिनियम, 1992 के माध्यम से प्रदान किया गया है।
आरक्षण का अनुपात: इस संशोधन के तहत संविधान के अनुच्छेद 243D(3) में प्रावधान किया गया है कि पंचायतों के सभी स्तरों (ग्राम, प्रखंड/मध्यवर्ती और जिला पंचायत) पर कुल सीटों की संख्या का कम से कम एक-तिहाई (33%) हिस्सा महिलाओं के लिए अनिवार्य रूप से आरक्षित होगा।
अतिरिक्त प्रावधान: इसके अलावा, अध्यक्षों के कुल पदों में भी महिलाओं के लिए कम से कम एक-तिहाई आरक्षण का प्रावधान किया गया है। कई राज्यों ने इसे बढ़ाकर 50% तक भी कर दिया है।
