आदेश: 1905 में बंगाल के विभाजन का आदेश तत्कालीन ब्रिटिश वायसराय लॉर्ड कर्जन द्वारा दिया गया था।
कारण: आधिकारिक तौर पर इसे प्रशासनिक सुविधा बताया गया था, परंतु इसका वास्तविक उद्देश्य भारतीय राष्ट्रीय चेतना और बंगाल के बढ़ते राजनीतिक प्रभाव को कमजोर करना था।
परिणाम: इसके विरोध में पूरे देश में 'स्वदेशी आंदोलन' की शुरुआत हुई और अंततः भारी जन-आक्रोश के कारण 1911 में इस विभाजन को रद्द करना पड़ा।
