भारत में 73वें संविधान संशोधन द्वारा त्रि-स्तरीय पंचायती राज व्यवस्था की स्थापना की गई है, जिसके तीन स्तर निम्नलिखित हैं:
ग्राम स्तर: ग्राम पंचायत (आधारभूत स्तर)
मध्यवर्ती स्तर: पंचायत समिति / मंडल परिषद / ब्लॉक समिति (ग्राम और जिला स्तर के बीच की कड़ी)
