जनगणना में आंकड़ों को इकठ्ठा करने की प्रक्रिया को गणना (Enumeration) कहा जाता है।

अर्थ: गणना वह प्रक्रिया है जिसके अंतर्गत देश के प्रत्येक घर और प्रत्येक व्यक्ति तक पहुँचकर उससे संबंधित जनसांख्यिकीय, सामाजिक और आर्थिक डेटा एकत्र किया जाता है।
