व्याख्या
मौलिक कर्तव्यों को भारतीय संविधान में 42वें संविधान संशोधन (1976) द्वारा शामिल किया गया था।
मुख्य बिंदु:
स्वर्ण सिंह समिति: इन कर्तव्यों को जोड़ने की सिफारिश सरदार स्वर्ण सिंह समिति ने आपातकाल (1975-1977) के दौरान की थी।
संविधान संशोधन: वर्ष 1976 में 42वें संविधान संशोधन के माध्यम से संविधान में एक नया भाग IV-A (अनुच्छेद 51A) जोड़ा गया, जिसमें नागरिकों के मौलिक कर्तव्यों को स्थान मिला।
सोवियत संघ का प्रभाव: भारतीय संविधान में मौलिक कर्तव्यों का विचार तत्कालीन सोवियत संघ (USSR) के संविधान से प्रेरित होकर लिया गया था।
