) के समान होता है, जिसमें 2 प्रोटॉन और 2 न्यूट्रॉन होते हैं।
परमाणु संख्या पर प्रभाव: जब किसी रेडियोधर्मी तत्व के नाभिक से एक अल्फा कण बाहर निकलता है, तो उसके नाभिक से 2 प्रोटॉन कम हो जाते हैं। चूंकि परमाणु संख्या (Atomic Number) नाभिक में मौजूद प्रोटॉनों की संख्या के बराबर होती है, इसलिए इसमें 2 इकाई की कमी आ जाती है।
