उपोष्ण उच्च दाब कटिबंधों (Subtropical High-Pressure Belts) से भूमध्यरेखीय निम्न दाब कटिबंध (Equatorial Low-Pressure Belts) की ओर प्रवाहित होने वाली स्थायी पवनों को व्यापारिक पवनें (Trade Winds) कहा जाता है।
कोरियोलिस बल के प्रभाव के कारण उत्तरी गोलार्ध में ये पवनें उत्तर-पूर्व से दक्षिण-पश्चिम की ओर तथा दक्षिणी गोलार्ध में दक्षिण-पूर्व से उत्तर-पश्चिम की ओर बहती हैं।
