सामयिक अध्यक्ष (Pro-tem Speaker) की भूमिका: सामान्यतः लोकसभा के गठन के बाद राष्ट्रपति लोकसभा के सबसे वरिष्ठ सदस्यों में से किसी एक को 'सामयिक अध्यक्ष' (Pro-tem Speaker) नियुक्त करते हैं, जो नवनिर्वाचित लोकसभा सदस्यों को शपथ दिलाते हैं।
शपथ का उद्देश्य: यह शपथ भारतीय संविधान के प्रति सच्ची श्रद्धा और निष्ठा रखने तथा अपने कर्तव्यों का ईमानदारी से निर्वहन करने के लिए दिलाई जाती है।
