कम वर्षा: नमी की कमी के कारण पश्चिमी घाट के पूर्वी ढलान वाले क्षेत्र (जैसे आंतरिक कर्नाटक, महाराष्ट्र के कुछ हिस्से और तेलंगाना का पठार) अपेक्षाकृत सूखे या कम वर्षा वाले क्षेत्र बन जाते हैं।
