सुरक्षा परिषद की संरचना: संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद (UNSC) में कुल 15 सदस्य होते हैं, जिनमें से 5 स्थायी और 10 अस्थायी सदस्य होते हैं।
स्थायी सदस्य देश: चीन, फ्रांस, रूस, यूनाइटेड किंगडम और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका इसके पाँच स्थायी सदस्य हैं।
वीटो पावर: इन पाँचों स्थायी सदस्यों के पास किसी भी महत्वपूर्ण प्रस्ताव को अपनी 'नकारात्मक वोट' (वीटो पावर) के माध्यम से अस्वीकार करने की विशेष शक्ति होती है। यदि कोई एक भी स्थायी सदस्य इसके खिलाफ वोट कर देता है, तो वह प्रस्ताव पास नहीं होता है।
