SEBI (भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड) की स्थापना 12 अप्रैल, 1988 को हुई थी।
मुख्य बिंदु:
शुरुआत में इसे भारत सरकार के एक प्रस्ताव के तहत गैर-वैधानिक (Non-statutory) निकाय के रूप में स्थापित किया गया था।
बाद में, पूंजी बाजार में बढ़ते निवेशकों के विश्वास और धोखाधड़ी को रोकने के लिए इसे वैधानिक दर्जा देने की आवश्यकता महसूस हुई।
