General Intelligence · Critical Reasoning
Read the passage carefully and evaluate the statement given below based on it: Using knives and chisels, two Russian astronauts took a sample of a substance around a mysterious hole in the Soyuz spacecraft, which was docked at the International Space Station (ISS). A Moscow official suggested that this hole could have been deliberately made. This 2 mm hole was detected after an air leak was noticed. Roscosmos, the space agency, stated that to analyze this small but dangerous hole, the insulation over it was cut, and a sample of the substance around it was collected. A new insulation was then applied. The head of Roscosmos mentioned that no manufacturing defect was found in the initial investigation. The experienced astronauts had to struggle but they managed to succeed in their mission. The primary difficulty was that the Soyuz spacecraft was not designed for repairs during a spacewalk, and no handrails were available for astronauts to hold onto outside the vehicle. Statement: Astronauts succeeded in insulating the hole but failed to collect samples for analysis.
