General Studies · Statement and Argument
Read the passage carefully and evaluate the statement based on it. Passage: India invites Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies to participate in 5G trials, a company which has been banned by America by calling it a threat to its cyber security, and security and technology establishments expressed concern in Australia and New Zealand. Although there have been some changes in Indian conditions in the last decade, there are still not enough security measures in the telecom sector in India, which is the backbone of the digital economy. The only thing that has changed is the technology standard - earlier it was in the form of fear of using Chinese 3G devices containing spyware and now Chinese 5G devices. To address these alleged safety hazards, experts have suggested two ways that can be used by the government. First, establishment of infrastructure to test and identify the vulnerabilities of telecommunication equipment installed in the country. Second, developing the ability to build important hardware components in the country. Officials say that they have not been implemented in India so far. Statement: India's telecom sector is highly secure compared to other countries.
