Physics · Pedagogy of Physics

Nuclear physics lessons include demonstrations of radioactivity, calculations of mass-energy equivalence, and analysis of nuclear binding energy. Students engage in inquiry-based activities to explore nuclear stability, fission, and fusion processes. Conceptual difficulties related to mass defect and binding energy are addressed through iterative problem-solving and guided discussions, reinforcing understanding of nuclear structure and applications. Assertion (A): Demonstrations of radioactivity and mass-energy calculations significantly improve students' understanding of nuclear physics. Reason (R): Focused remedial sessions on binding energy relationships help clarify concepts of nuclear stability.
