Mathematics · Speed, Time and Distance
Analyze the three quantities given below: Quantity I: A man covered half of a certain distance by bus at a speed of 50 km/h and the remaining distance by bike at a speed of 80 km/h. Find the total distance covered by the man if the total time taken by him is 6 hours 30 minutes. Quantity II: Ragu can swim at 26 km/h in still water. The river flows at 14 km/h and it takes him 14 hours more to travel upstream than downstream for the same distance. How far is the place? Quantity III: The speed of a man in still water is 20 km/h and the river flows at 8 km/h. The total time taken to go to a place and come back is 15 hours. Find half of the total distance travelled by the man. Compare the quantities and choose the correct relationship:
- 1Quantity I ≤ Quantity II ≤ Quantity III
- 2Quantity I > Quantity II > Quantity III✓
- 3Quantity I > Quantity II ≥ Quantity III
- 4Quantity I ≥ Quantity II ≥ Quantity III
Correct answer
Quantity I > Quantity II > Quantity III
