A string has one end fixed to a rigid wall and passes over a fixed frictionless pulley located at a distance of 2 m from the wall. A point mass M = 2 kg is attached to the string at a distance of 1 m from the wall. Another mass m = 0.5 kg is attached to the free end of the string. The system is held such that the portion of the string between the wall and pulley is horizontal, and beyond the pulley it is vertical. When released, find the speed (in m/s) with which mass M hits the wall. (Take g = 9.8 m/s2)
