A passage is given followed by a statement based on it. Read the passage carefully and determine the validity of the statement. Passage: It is believed that Saint Nicholas (aka Santa Claus) lived in Patara around 300 B.C. in Turkey (then considered part of ancient Greece). He was a great pastor of Myra, famous for his good work among the poor, love for children, and gifts to the needy. He is usually portrayed as a slim figure in his religious office wearing red and gold, holding a stick or a Bible or both, and with a traditional halo representing good deeds. Here is a glimpse of his evolution from a religious icon to the modern Santa Claus: - 13th Century: Bishop Nicholas of Myra was declared a saint in the first millennium. By the 13th century, in his honor, the Dutch celebrated a tradition of putting coins in boots left outside the homes of the poor, attributing it to St. Nicholas. Over time, Saint Nicholas became 'Sinterklaas' in the Netherlands, depicted with white hair, a long beard, white clothing, a red clock, and a bishop's staff, traveling on a white horse. - 16th Century: St. Nicholas became popular all over Europe. The Dutch Sinterklaas turned into Santa Claus in many areas. Every year, the feast of St. Nicholas or Santa Claus is celebrated on December 6, which is the death anniversary of the original Bishop of Myra. Statement: In the thirteenth century, Dutch Sinterklaas became Santa Claus in many areas.
