Physics · Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance
A parallel plate capacitor with plate area A and plate separation d is filled with three dielectric slabs of dielectric constants k, 2k and 3k. The first two slabs have area A/2 and thickness d/2 each, placed in series with each other. The third slab of area A/2 and thickness d spans the remaining half of the capacitor. If C0 is the capacitance without slabs and C is the capacitance with slabs, then the ratio C/C0 is:
- 1156 k
- 2136 k✓
- 3116 k
- 496 k
Correct answer
136 k
