महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षण: 73वें संवैधानिक संशोधन अधिनियम, 1992 (अनुच्छेद 243-D) के अनुसार, पंचायतों के सभी स्तरों पर महिलाओं के लिए कम से कम एक-तिहाई (33%) सीटें आरक्षित करना अनिवार्य किया गया है।
यह आरक्षण कुल सीटों की संख्या के साथ-साथ अध्यक्षों के पदों पर भी लागू होता है।
