26 जनवरी 2020 को 'दादरा और नगर हवेली और दमन और दीव (केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों का विलय) अधिनियम, 2019' लागू किया गया।
इसके तहत दो अलग-अलग केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों—दादरा और नगर हवेली तथा दमन और दीव—का आपस में विलय करके एक ही केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बना दिया गया।
इस नए संयुक्त केंद्र शासित प्रदेश की राजधानी दमन है।
