Mathematics · Coordinate Geometry
Perpendiculars are drawn to lines L1 and L2 from the origin making angles π4 and 3π4 respectively with the positive direction of the X-axis. If both lines are at unit distance from the origin, then their joint equation is:
- 1x2 − y2 − 2√2 y + 2 = 0
- 2x2 − y2 + 2√2 y − 2 = 0✓
- 3x2 − y2 − 2√2 y − 2 = 0
- 4x2 − y2 + 2√2 y + 2 = 0
Correct answer
x2 − y2 + 2√2 y − 2 = 0
